Our Core Values: Collaboration, Respect, Excellence & Learning

The difference between Mini University and other early learning programs is the strength of our Leaders, who hire and retain exemplary teaching staff, and all are committed to living our Core Values.

Highly Qualified Degreed Teachers in every classroom
The mark of quality is seen in the positive child outcomes and educational foundation provided by highly educated and professional teaching staff. Most families don’t realize the low standards of Ohio’s licensing system – to work in “daycare” in Ohio, a teacher only has to have a high school diploma. At Mini University, we know we are literally helping to build a child’s brain, so ALL Mini U classrooms have highly educated, intentional Teachers supporting young children’s education and development!

Strong partnerships in Dayton for over 20 years!
Mini University has been a family-owned small business, incorporated in Ohio since 1987. We collaborate with the following organizations:

  • Wright State University (since 1987)
  • Miami Valley Hospital (since 1993)
  • Montgomery County (since 1997)
  • Miami University, Oxford (since 2001)

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accredited
Only 2% of child care centers nationally achieve this highest level of quality. Our Wright State program was the first center in Greene County to be nationally accredited (1990).

Awards of Excellence
All centers are NAEYC Accredited and all are “5 Star” rated, the highest rating in Ohio’s Step up to Quality system (SUTQ).

  • First “5 Star” programs in Butler and Greene County
  • Outstanding Child Care Center Award (Dayton Association for Young Children)
    • WSU~1995
    • MVH~1997
    • Montgomery County~2002
  • Teacher and Administrator of the Year Recognition (DAYC)
  • Ohio Department of Education: Leadership Award – WSU Executive Director, 2009
  • 1997 Governor Voinovich visit to MVH as model employer-sponsored center in the state

Mini University is a leader in early care and education, and is making a difference in the lives of young children and families in Ohio!
